Safety Officer

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Safety Officer to oversee the implementation and adherence to safety policies at our construction sites in KSA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing risks, conducting audits, and providing safety training to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with HSE standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Policy Implementation: Implement safety policies at construction sites and ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
  • Risk Assessment: Assess risks associated with construction projects to identify and mitigate hazardous conditions within the workplace and external environments.
  • Toolbox Talks: Conduct HSE toolbox talks at sites and facilities as per the planned schedule.
  • Audits and Inspections: Conduct audits and inspections at sites and facilities to ensure compliance with applicable HSE standards. Perform HE lifesaving rules inspections as required.
  • Reporting: Report HSE KPIs as per HE report timelines and timely report HSE incidents following HE incident reporting guidelines.
  • Incident Investigation: Investigate HSE incidents, liaise with engineers, management, and health and safety regulatory authorities to identify causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Emergency Equipment: Monitor and maintain records of emergency equipment at work locations.
  • Material Handling: Ensure safe arrangements for loading, unloading, and material handling.
  • Safety Training: Provide advice and training on safety protocols, demonstrate the usage of safety equipment, and encourage the workforce to adhere to safety practices.
  • Safety Culture: Emphasize FTE values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for personal actions while caring for colleagues and the business.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar safety role.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and training skills.
  • Ability to conduct detailed audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
  • Proficiency in maintaining safety records and reporting.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-risk environment.
